Salina Turda salt mine

Salina Turda is real salt mine, open for visitors. Mine was specially modify in amusement park, where you can see mine machinary, play small tennis, listen to a concert at mini-theatre, boating on the lake or ride on the Ferris wheel.

Distance from the top to the bottom of the viewing platform - it is 13 hops. This can be overcome by foot wooden stairs or the elevator. It should be noted that the stairs are very narrow and the weekend traffic jams happen here, when visitors have to stop and skip descending or climbing people.

Salina Turda has two entrances. There is a huge parking wth small shopping fair near the main central entrance having semi-circular shpe. The second entrance is on the back side of the mount. It is the closest to the town of Turda. If you choose the second entrance, it should be taken into account the distance from the entrance to the mine is more than 700 meters, surmounted by a long corridor the salt.

It should be bring warm clothes and shoes for visiting salt mining in Turda, as temperature in the cave is about 11-13 degrees. There are a lot of visitors in weekends, that’s why the temperature in salt mine can be higher in couple of degrees.
