Cricova winery is impressive undeground city situated at a depth of 50-80 meters under the ground. Total length of tunnels is about 70km. More then 1 millione bottle wine keep here. Many head of contries and even Angela Merkel has own wine cellars where personal wine collection is stored.
There are several tasting room and halls with fantastic interiors. One of the small taste hall has a fireplace with more then 30 meters chimney.
Average temperature in the cellars is 10-14 degrees and humidity is 95-98%. It considers as perfect condition for wine storage.
Cricovas offer a several type of wine tour. It is excursion in undeground wine town and various type of wine tasting in the guest hall.
You can get to the Cricova Winery by public transport from Chisinau. Bus №2 goes to the bus station in Cricova from the centre of Chisinau. You can check it on bus route map.It takes about 10 minutes walking from bus stop to Cricova Winary. A lot of travel agency offers a wine tour to Cricova and provides transfer to the undeground city.
