Tunnel Capra

Tunnel Capra is the longest tunnel in Transilvaniya and Romania, his lenght - 887 meter. There were also used 20 tons of dynamite for construction. Tunnel pass through mountain and ways to Balea Lake, that's why it has second name like Capra-Balea.

Tunnel is closed from begining november till end of may, as exit is blocked by snow in this period. It should also be noted that the pass through the highway Transfagareshan only open from the begining of July to the end of August. In winter, the road in some places completely covered with snow. In spite of its length Transfagarashan is designed as tourist attraction, and it is cleared only at the begining of the summer.
